How to Make Weeknight Dinners Easier

We all stress over dinner and what to make. Here are a few simple things that can make cooking during the week less stressful:

  • Keep Quick-Cooking Proteins on Hand: Shrimp, ground chicken, thin chicken breasts, and salmon cook quickly and are great choices when you don’t have much time.
  • Use One-Pan Recipes: One-pan dinners are not only easy to make, but they also mean fewer dishes to wash afterward.
  • Prep a Few Things Ahead: Cook a batch of rice, wash your vegetables, or prep your chicken earlier in the week. Having a few things ready to go can make dinner much faster.
  • Don’t Overthink Dinner: Dinner doesn’t need to be complicated to be good. A simple protein, a vegetable, and rice or potatoes can make a perfectly good meal.

My Tips on Making Easy and Hassle-free Dinner Recipes

I think the biggest thing that makes dinner easier is having a few basic ingredients on hand.

I usually like to keep chicken, ground beef, shrimp, salmon, pasta, rice, frozen vegetables, and a few simple sauces or seasonings in the kitchen. That way, even when I haven’t planned dinner, I can usually put something together.

And don’t feel like you have to make everything completely from scratch. You can always use frozen vegetables, pre-cooked rice, or leftover chicken. These can save a lot of time on busy nights.
