HOW TO MAKE MUSHROOM STEAK
- Marinate Steak: In a shallow bowl combine the smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cayenne. Add the steak pieces and toss until evenly coated in the seasoning blend.
- Sear Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil starts
shimmering, sear the steak pieces in batches, for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the edges are browned and crispy. Add additional oil in between batches, if necessary. Transfer the steak to a plate and set aside. - Cook Mushrooms: Return the skillet to the heat and reduce to medium. Heat the remaining olive oil in the pan, and add the mushrooms. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until well browned. Add the garlic and cook, scraping any bits from the bottom of the pan, until the garlic is fragrant, 30-45 seconds.
- Combine Steak and Mushrooms: Return the steak to the pan, tossing to combine with the garlic-mushroom mixture, and to get everything heated through. Serve immediately.
