frequently asked questions

How do you know when Salmon is done cooking?

Press the top of the salmon with a fork along the white lines on the salmon filet, if it separates and flakes easily then it is done cooking and can be taken off the heat.

Can you eat salmon skin?

Technically, they said it is ok to eat the skin of the salmon since it comes with some health benefits. This is going to be a personal preference and we prefer not to eat the skin. We do like to cook the salmon fillets with their skin on.

Should you rinse raw salmon?

Rinsing any raw meat is not advised by the Food and Drug Administration. Rinsing raw meat will only spread more harmful germs and bacteria onto the surfaces of your kitchen. Cooking the meat thoroughly will remove and kill any bacteria that may have been present in the meat.

What side do you grill salmon on first?

We prefer to cook salmon fillets with the skin on. To cook the salmon, start with the skin side on first, then after 4-5 minutes, flip to the other side and cook for another 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
