1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
flour – any flour will work
dried oregano
salt and pepper
oil – olive oil or any other oil you prefer cooking with
garlic cloves – best to use fresh but you may also use garlic powder
honey or maple syrup
low sodium soy sauce
white wine vinegar
hot chili sauce or sriracha
fresh parsley to garnish
sesame seeds to garnish
How to make honey garlic chicken
- Season the chicken: Add the chicken to a large Ziploc bag together with flour, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix through the bag to evenly coat all the chicken pieces.
- Cook the chicken: Heat the oil in a large frying pan, over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook on all sides until golden brown, for about 8-10 minutes in total. You may need to cook the chicken in batches, to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Mix the honey garlic sauce: Meanwhile, in a small jug add the garlic, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and sriracha or hot chili sauce. Mix well to combine.
- Add sauce in with the chicken: Once the chicken is done cooking, pour over the garlic honey, and stir to completely coat; allow the sauce to simmer for a couple of minutes to meld all the flavors.
- Serve and enjoy: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
