No-fuss side dishes are my go-to for cookouts and potlucks, whether I’m hosting or going. With only 6 ingredients, this Grape Salad recipe is really easy to throw together. It literally takes less than 10 minutes!

It’s creamy with an amazing tang thanks to the greek yogurt and cream cheese, and the grapes just burst with sweetness with each bite you take. To finish off, I added crushed walnuts for an addictive crunch.

Although this recipe is great as a side dish, I often eat it instead of dessert for a sweet treat that is healthy as well after dinner. It really hits the spot!

Why you will love this recipe

  • Easy: The most difficult part of this recipe is slicing the grapes. It’s seriously so simple!
  • Quick: All you have to do is slice the grapes, make the dressing, and toss them together. This is ready in less than 10 minutes!
  • No cooking: Keep the grill, oven, and stove off for this one! All you need is a chopping board and a bowl.
  • Perfect anytime: This grape salad recipe is perfect as a side dish, but also as a snack or a healthy dessert option. It really tastes like a treat!
  • Kid-friendly: There are never any leftovers when I make this recipe! My kids devour it as soon as it reaches the dinner table.

What is Grape Salad made of?

  • Grapes: For ease, I like to use seedless grapes, any color (green and/or purple). They are best for this recipe when they are still cold, straight from the fridge. If you use grapes with seeds, just remove the seeds as you slice them.
  • Walnuts: For texture, walnuts add an amazing crunch. You can substitute another nut like pecans if desired.

Grape Salad Dressing:

  • Cream cheese: Either light cream cheese or regular cream cheese will work for this grape salad recipe. You can even use vegan cream cheese! I take it out of the fridge about an hour or so before cooking so that it’s warmed up a little and earlier to work with.
  • Yogurt: Greek yogurt is my go-to for anything requiring yogurt! It’s super creamy and has more protein than regular plain yogurt. If you’re keeping your calories low, try fat-free Greek yogurt. A dairy-free alternative would be great as well.
  • Maple syrup: This sweetens up the dressing and tastes delicious. I recommend using Grade A maple syrup (the real stuff!) as it’s much better quality than other maple syrups. Honey is a great option if you don’t have maple syrup on hand.
  • Vanilla: Vanilla extract is a warm flavor that really brings out the sweetness.

Tips for success

  • Cream cheese: The cream cheese is much easier to mix with the other grape salad dressing ingredients if it’s left at room temperature to warm up for about an hour before cooking. If you forget to take it out, I recommend using a blender or food processor to mix up the dressing instead of a spoon or whisk.
  • Make it vegan: Use dairy-free Greek-style yogurt and cream cheese to make this grape salad recipe vegan friendly. It tastes great this way too!
  • Add different nuts: Pecans are great on top of this recipe or even candied pecans or walnuts.
  • Toast the nuts: I love toasted nuts! To toast, just add them to a non-stick pan over medium heat on the stove and cook them until they turn a little darker and are fragrant. Allow the toasted nuts to cool before adding them to this grape salad recipe.
  • Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make a white grape salad?

To make a white grape salad, simply use white grapes instead of purple, red, or black grapes, and then follow the rest of this grape salad recipe. White grapes and green grapes are the same. Varieties of white grape include chardonnay, riesling, sauvignon blanc, and pinot gris/grigio.

Do you put grapes in a salad?

Grapes are an excellent addition to many salads, whether it’s a simple side salad, fruit salad, or a grape salad recipe. They add a pop of sweetness and are usually nice and cold. I would avoid adding them to more savory dishes like potato salad or pasta salad.

How long do grapes last in the fridge?

If stored correctly, grapes can last for up to 3 weeks in the fridge. Store them in a well-ventilated container in the crisper drawer in your fridge. Usually, grapes are sold in well-ventilated containers which are perfect to keep them at home as well.
