INGREDIENTS FOR HEALTHY CHOCOLATE BANANA PANCAKES
This is a list that features the easy ingredients that are in this protein oat pancake recipe! For a list of the full measurements, be sure to scroll down to the recipe card.
- Banana– One ripe and spotty banana is used to give these oatmeal pancakes plenty of moisture and sweet flavors. The riper the banana the better to be sure to use up any older bananas you have.
- Egg– You use one large egg to keep everything together to use flax eggs instead for an egg-free version.
- Vanilla Extract– Pure vanilla extract gives these pancakes all of the extra flavors they need.
- Cinnamon– Ground cinnamon creates a delicious combination with the chocolate and gives these pancakes a little spice filled with tasty fragrances.
- Milk– Use any kind of milk for this recipe such as dairy, oat, almond, cashew, etc.
- Oat Flour– Make your own oat flour at home in a blender or food processor or use your favorite gluten-free oat flour from the store. Oat flour creates pancakes that are made without gluten but still super fluffy.
- Cacao– Rich cacao powder is a great option for chocolate or you can use cocoa powder. Both can be found in the baking aisles of most grocery stores.
- Baking Powder– Just a little bit of baking powder is used to make sure these pancakes rise.
- Spray Oil– I like to use coconut oil spray while cooking pancakes but feel free to use any vegetable cooking spray.
Optional Toppings
Top the pancakes with nuts, whipped cream, nut butter, fresh fruit, maple syrup, or any other favorite pancake topping.
