As a child, I remember hating vegetables, and I specifically hated green beans! As I got older, in my late teens, my grandmother made me warm up to them. She used to fancy it up with shaved cheese, and sometimes she would add toasted almonds or pine nuts.

Air fryer green beans are a perfect healthy side dish recipe to add to your dinner table that pairs well with pretty much any meal. This green beans recipe is super easy to make with just 5 minutes of prep time and 8-10 minutes of cook time.

The green beans are tossed in with olive oil, seasoning, salt, and pepper, then air-fried until crispy and tender. Once the green beans are done, top them with some shaved parmesan and even drizzle some lemon juice for perfectly zesty and delicious green beans.

Frequently asked questions

Can you air-fry green beans from a can?

Technically yes. You can use canned green beans and air fry them as you would any other veggies. You will not be getting the crispy and tender texture you would using fresh beans. Canned beans are not ideal but if that’s all you have then use them.

How long do green beans take to cook?

Green beans will take anywhere between 5-10 minutes to cook. It all depends on whether you are using fresh green beans, frozen, or canned. Remember canned green beans are already cooked so they need less time. Fresh green beans need about 8 minutes or so depending on how crispy you want them.

Do I need to soak green beans before cooking?

You do not need to soak green beans before cooking them. You can blanch them in salted water to help tenderize it but is not really necessary.
