faq’s

What is Bruschetta?

Let’s talk about what Bruschetta actually is. It is an Italian dish that basically consists of grilled bread that’s rubbed in garlic and topped with olive oil and salt. There have been many variations of toppings added to a bruschetta recipe that includes, tomatoes, cheese, nuts, beans, balsamic reduction, and so on. A Bruschetta Chicken means swapping the bread with the chicken.

Is Bruschetta the bread or the topping

Whenever I used to hear the word bruschetta, the first thing that came to mind was the tomato mixture that goes on top of the bread. But, bruschetta is actually the bread that’s grilled and not the topping.

what to serve with this bruschetta chicken recipe

This dish goes well with a whole host of sides, from traditional to low carb. Here are some ideas:

how to store leftovers

Store the chicken and bruschetta separately. You can transfer leftovers to airtight containers, then store in the fridge for up to 4 days. To reheat the chicken, use either the microwave or the oven. If using the oven, set to 400F, put the chicken in a baking dish covered with foil, then bake for about 10 minutes or until heated through.

Can i freeze this bruschetta chicken?

Stored in an airtight container or freezer bag, the chicken will last for 4 months. The chicken reheats best when thawed overnight in the fridge first.

Because of its high water content, the bruschetta topping does not freeze well! This is best kept fresh.
