You can have all the pizza you want without any guilt while loading up on protein when you have this cottage cheese pizza crust. Easy to make and so delicious.

You are going to want to make this high protein cottage cheese pizza on a regular basis. It is just amazing, with 40 grams of protein per serving. Made with simple and minimal ingredients like cottage cheese, eggs, flour, and seasonings, and topped with shredded cheese and pepperoni. Cottage cheese is now my new go-to ingredient that adds the perfect amount of protein without altering the flavor much. I was inspired by my cottage cheese wrap to make this pizza crust using cottage cheese.
I served it with this tomato mozzarella salad and the kids loved it.
Ingredients needed
Below is a list of ingredients you will need to make this cottage cheese pizza crust. Full measurements are listed further down below in the recipe card.
- Cottage cheese: I used a small curd and low fat.
- 2 large eggs
- Flour of your choice: I used all-purpose but other types of flour will work too.
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Dried Oregano: or you can swap it with Italian Seasoning.
- Pizza sauce or marinara
- Low-fat pizza Cheese blend or shredded mozzarella
- Turkey Pepperoni: I don’t eat pork or bacon, so you can use whatever you like.
- Grated parmesan, optional to garnish
- Black pepper, optional
How to make cottage cheese pizza crust
Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Step 1: In a large bowl, add the cottage cheese, eggs, flour, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried oregano. You may add a bit of black pepper at this point.
Step 2: Using a spatula, stir to fully combine. No need to blend. You just need a smooth texture.
Step 3: Transfer the mixture onto the prepared sheet pan. Using a spoon or spatula, spread the cottage cheese mixture to form a circle. Do not spread it too thin.
Step 4: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until it is slightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5: Spread the pizza sauce over the baked cottage cheese crust
Step 6 and 7: Top with shredded cheese and pepperoni.
Step 8: Bake again for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted. Garnish with grated parmesan or chili flakes. Enjoy.
Recipe notes and Tips
- The serving size is 2 slices of pizza. Each slice has 20 grams of protein.
- I used small curd cottage cheese. Either low-fat or full-fat will work. I used low-fat but either one will be ok.
- Flour: You can use any flour, like all-purpose flour, oat flour, or whole wheat flour. If you are gluten-sensitive, use GF flour.
- Cheese: I used one that’s called Pizza Blend. Mozzarella works just fine.
- Toppings can be anything like pepperoni, sliced mushrooms, onions, veggies, and so on. Get creative.
- When I take the crust out of the oven, I like to let it sit for a minute or two for the crust to settle before I add the pizza sauce.
- You can make it without the flour if you want a really low-carb option. But keep in mind that the texture will be softer, moist, and not as sturdy. But it does work. I tried it.
Common Questions
Yes. It will work without any of the seasonings. The seasonings just add some flavor. So if you are missing any it’s fine to skip.
Large curd will technically work, but the texture will vary slightly. I suggest you strain it from any excess water that it may have. If you want to pulse the cottage cheese a bit, I believe that will work great.
Yes. Even though I haven’t tried it with almond flour, it will also technically work. But I have to say the texture will not be the same. The pizza crust will be softer and more moist. So keep that in mind.

Could you use protein powder in place of the flour?
I really don’t think so. I would have to test it first but I don’t see how that would work. Flavor won’t be great.
So so yummy
Thank you. Glad you loved it.
