How to Slice and Core an Apple with a Knife

First, place the apple on a wooden cutting board and make sure you have a sharp knife ready. Next, while holding the apple with your hand, carefully slice through the apple from top to bottom one half of an inch to the right or left from the core.

Rotate the apple while slicing away from the core until you have cut all of the sides of the apple off. Be careful to not cut through the core during these steps. The core of the apple should look similar to the photo below.

Discard the core of the apple, then get ready to slice the big pieces of the apple that you sliced off–you should have four slices.

While they are face down, slice the four pieces of apple into halves or fourths. You can slice the apples into however many slices you would like.

Serve the apple slices on the wooden cutting board and enjoy.

If you are not enjoying the apple slices right away, then store them in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
