Recipe Note and Tips
- Be mindful to not overheat the chocolate when melting. It will become dry and have a burned and bitter taste.
- Chocolate: use 90% dark, or sugar-free chocolate. For a vegan option, use dairy-free.
- Strawberries: we used freeze-dried strawberries. You may use any other preferred dried fruit.
- Store in a container for up to 10 days. You may store it on your kitchen counter at room temperature or store it in the fridge.
- Try it with sugar-free white chocolate if you don’t like the taste of dark chocolate.
- Consider other toppings like crushed candy canes.
frequently asked questions
It all depends on your toppings and how you store them. Chocolate barks topped with dried fruits and candy will last up to 10-14 days in a container in the fridge. Other toppings like pretzel wont last as long and become soggy and stale.
Here are a few chocolates you can use listed below that are great for melting
Lily’s Dark Chocolate Chips
Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Wafer Melts
Hershey’s dark chocolate Chips
Nestle Dark Chocolate Morsels
Couverture Chocolate
The idea of adding some sort of oil to your melted chocolate is to keep the chocolate from hardening especially if it is used for dipping. In this case for the chocolate bark, oil is not needed.

Hi! I’m interested in making a lot of your recipes and this one was really good! I have a question about your calorie counts, though: Does the number of calories on a recipe mean how many calories per one serving, or per how many servings the recipe makes?
Thanks!
