This recipe only requires a handful of simple ingredients. Below is an image of the ingredients you will need to make it. Full measurements are listed further down in the recipe card.
How to make air fryer chicken bites
Marinate the chicken: Combine all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Cut the chicken into 1-inch pieces on a cutting board and transfer to the bowl with the marinade, stirring to coat each piece. Allow it to marinate for 15 minutes on the counter or up to 1 hour in the fridge.
Prep the broccoli: Meanwhile, prepare the broccoli florets and rub with 1 tablespoon of oil, salt and pepper.
Cook the chicken: Preheat the air fryer to 380ºF. Add the chicken to the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until no longer pink and almost cooked through.
Cook the broccoli: Shake the basket and add in the broccoli. Continue to air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serve: Enjoy with cooked rice and garnish with chopped parsley or chili pepper flakes, if desired.
Tips from my kitchen
Recipe Tip
- Adjust the sauce: If you prefer a slightly sweeter sauce, add a bit more maple syrup. If you’d like to add some heat, add 1/4 teaspoon (or more) of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
- Protein: In the mood for something other than chicken? Use beef or shrimp, instead. Keep in mind, that you will need to adjust the cooking time with different proteins.
- Veggies: If you have room in your air fryer, feel free to add in another vegetable, such as bell peppers, cauliflower florets, or sliced carrots.
- Serving suggestions: I love to pair this meal with sweet potato fries, white rice, instant pot sweet potatoes, avocado deviled eggs, or crispy baked potato wedges.

Yes. You can swap the chicken with any other protein of your choice, like shrimp or beef. Shrimp will need less time to cook through. If using shrimp, I would air fry it for 7-8 minutes.
