Frequently asked questions
Yes, you can absolutely prepare your salmon patties ahead and freeze them for later use. Remember not to cook the patties first, they need to remain uncooked. Place on a baking sheet and place in the freezer for about an hour. Once frozen, remove and wrap each of the patties with a plastic wrap and place in a resealable freezer bag. They can be stored for up to one month.
Canned salmon will technically work, especially if you get the good kinds. But I have to say that using fresh baked salmon will give you the best outcome.
If you have leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You may freeze for up to 3 months.
If the patties are frozen, allow them to thaw in the fridge the night before. Reheat in the microwave for 45-60 seconds until they are heated through. You may also reheat in a toaster oven.

Are these spicy?
Hi there, we don’t think so. But you may skip the hot sauce
Do I need to use oat and almond flour or will AP flour also work?
AP will work just fine
Is there a way to make these lower in carbs?
I haven’t tested it without flour, but my first suggestion would be to use ground pork rinds in place of the oat flour. You need a bit of binder. Add a bit more almond flour.
Loveeeee these! Made them into burger patties. My kids went crazy for them thanks for sharing!
Glad your family loved it.
Do you put the oil into the mixture with the salmon or just use it to cook the patties with?
Hi Emily. It’s to cook the patties with.
