frequently asked question
Stir-fry is the most common method of Chinese cooking. It is a quick way to cook a dish by stir-frying a combination of meat and veggies in a wok for a short time. A simpler way of cooking.
The most common oil used in cooking Chinese/Asian foods is nut seed oil. It could be either peanut oil or toasted sesame oil which are the most common.
We would have to say soy sauce. Soy sauce is the most important ingredient that is added to almost every Chinese meal. It is fundamental seasoning that must be added in most cases in place of salt.
Storage and Reheating
- Storage: You may store the leftover ground chicken separately from the cabbage cups. Place the cooked ground chicken in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You may freeze the cooked ground chicken in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Do not freeze the cabbage.
- Reheating: Reheat the leftover ground chicken in the microwave for 1-2 minutes until heated through. If frozen, allow to thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
Recipe Notes and tips
- Use a Wok, Sauté pan, or a cast-iron skillet. A wok is obviously great for Asian dishes, but you don’t have to use one.
- Dice the vegetables very small. This is one of the keys to making sure every bite is bursting with both texture and flavor
- Brown the chicken. Making sure the chicken is nice and crispy and brown is essential to the overall flavor and texture of this dish!
- You can spice this up a bit by adding jalapenos.
