First, trim the brussels sprouts and place them in a bowl of cold water. Rinse the veggies until sediment or dirt sinks to the bottom. Place the sprouts in a colander and store them in the refrigerator.

How To Cut Brussels Sprouts – 4 Ways

Grab your wooden cutting board, knife, and rinsed brussels sprouts, and add them to your workstation.

First, peel the outer loose layer of the brussels sprout off. Next, with the knife, carefully slice the bottom of the sprout off.

Next, carefully stand the brussels sprout up on its side and slice through the vegetable. You now have halved sprouts!

Cutting Brussels Sprouts Into Fourths

Place two halves of a brussels sprout on the cutting board. Place the brussels sprouts flat side down while you cut through the center of the sprout.

Repeat with the other brussels sprout until you have four pieces.

Place each quarter of the brussels sprout onto the cutting board, then with the knife, slice the veggie into ½-inch pieces as shown below.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups brussels sprouts , or 1 bunch

Instructions

Sliced In Half

  • Peel the outer loose layer of the brussels sprout off. With the knife, carefully slice the bottom of the sprout off.
  • Next, carefully stand the brussels sprout up on its side and slice through the vegetable.

Cut Into Fourths

  • Place two halves of a brussels sprout on the cutting board. Place the brussels sprouts flat side down while you cut through the center of the sprout.
  • Repeat with the other brussels sprout until you have four pieces.
