I have been making these high-protein Jalapeno Cheddar Bagels for a while now, and I had to share. Simple, easy, packed with protein, and so flavorful. Perfect guilt-free breakfast made with a few pantry staples.
Similar to my Greek Yogurt 2-Ingredient bagels, these bagels will become your favorite to make if you like the classic jalapeno cheddar bagel.
Many of you already know of mixing flour and greek yogurt to make dough. It’s been a thing for a while now and for good reason. They are so easy to put together with minimal ingredients and the end result is just so good. High protein bagels for the win any day of the week. I love making this variation of the high protein Greek yogurt bagels by adding in some cheddar cheese and jalapenos. It’s that easy. With just 4 main ingredients you can make these bagels every day if you like.
Jalapeno Cheddar Bagels
I am in love with these bagels because they are so easy to make and just so delicious. They do not need any yeast, no boiling is needed, and requires minimal kneading. Yummy. Each bagel has 14 grams of protein!

How to make Jalapeno Cheddar Bagels
Below is a step-by-step process on how I made these bagels, and I also included a video for you to take a look at.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, add the flour, garlic powder, chopped jalapenos, and cheddar cheese. Toss to combine.
Next, add in the Greek Yogurt. Using a spatula, mix well until a dough is formed. About one minute.
Lightly flour a surface with flour and transfer the dough to it. Gently knead the dough a few times for about 1-2 minutes to fully incorporate.
Divide the dough into 4 or 6 sections, depending on how big you want the bagels. I did 4 bagels.
Transfer to the prepared sheet pan. Spread some egg wash over the bagels, top with some shredded cheddar cheese and sliced jalapenos.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown. Let the bagels sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips from my kitchen
- To replace self-rising flour, use 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt.
- Allow the bagels to cool off a bit before slicing and serving.
- Ovens vary, but at 350°F, mine needed about 27 minutes to turn golden brown. They should be done anywhere between 25 to 30 minutes.
- If you want to use almond flour instead, you will need 2 1/2 to 3 cups of almond flour. Texture will vary because almond flour is very dense.
- I made 4 large bagels. But you can make 6-8 smaller sizes.
- Nutrition facts are calculated based on 4 servings. Serving size is one bagel.
Common Questions
If you do not have self-rising flour, you can use other types of flour like Gluten-free flour or all purpose flour. To replace self-rising flour, use 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt.
Yes. If you do not care for Jalapenos you can skip it entirely.
If you do not have cheddar cheese, you can use Asiago cheese, Gouda, Colby, American, or Monterey Jack.

Yes. Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with oil or add a parchment paper to it. Air fry at 350°F for 10–12 minutes. You can flip them halfway to prevent the top from burning or turning too brown or crispy.
