Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw hazelnuts or roasted store-bought hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar or any other powdered sweetener of your choice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • If using raw hazelnuts, preheat the oven to 400 F. Add the hazelnut over a sheet pan and bake for 6-8 minutes until they start to brown.
  • Once cooled, using your hands or cloth, rub the toasted hazelnuts together until most of the skin comes off. You do not need to peel completely.
  • Using a high-powered blender like a Vitamix or food processor, blend the nuts until they are smooth.
  • Next, add all other ingredients and blend for 1-3 minutes until you get a creamy smooth Nutella-like texture!
  • Add in a lidded jar and store for up to 2 weeks on your shelf or 2 months in the fridge

This recipe makes 2 cups, which is 16 2-Tablespoons servings.
Storage Recommendations:
    • Room Temperature: Store the homemade Nutella in an airtight jar at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Ensure the storage area is cool and away from direct sunlight.
    • Refrigerate: If you prefer a longer shelf life, refrigerate the Nutella. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 months. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving for a smoother consistency.
    • Freeze: While not necessary, you can freeze homemade Nutella for an extended period. Use an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator before use.
