How to Cut Green Onions (Scallions)

Freshly chopped scallions, also known as green onions, are easy to cut with just a knife and cutting board. Chopping scallions is perfect for meal prep and all of your recipes' needs.

  • 1 bunch green onions

Instructions

  • First, wash and dry the green onions. Chop the root tips off the scallions with the knife.
  • Slice ½-inch thick slices into the green onion and repeat until all of the green sections of the scallions have been cut.
  • Store any unused fresh scallions.

Notes

  • Store the sliced green onions in the freezer to have in advance.
  • Refrigerate any uncut scallions until ready to use.
  • Be sure to wash the onions before slicing.
  • Make sure the knife you are using is sharp.
