Easy Honey Garlic Chicken

Tender and juicy honey garlic chicken bites made with simple ingredients and ready in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3 tbsp gluten free flour
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Kosher salt and ground pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil divided
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • ½ tbsp sriracha/hot chili sauce or to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • For garnish: sesame seeds optional

Instructions

  • Add the chicken to a large ziploc bag together with the flour, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Mix through the bag to evenly coat all the chicken pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan, over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook on all sides until golden brown, for about 8-10 minutes in total. You may need to cook the chicken in batches, to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Meanwhile, in a small jug add the garlic, honey, soy sauce, vinegar and sriracha or hot chili sauce. Mix well to combine.
  • Once the chicken is done cooking, pour over the garlic-honey, and stir to completely coat; allow the sauce to simmer for a couple of minutes to meld all the flavors.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Notes

  • any flour of choice can be used.
  • serving size is 1/4 of the chicken bites
  • honey can be substituted with maple syrup.
  • any other oil will work in place of olive oil. Try grapeseed oil or avocado oil
  • use fresh garlic if possible. garlic powder will work too but not as flavorful. use 1 tablespoon in place of the fresh garlic.
  • do not overcook the chicken or they will dry out and get rubbery.
  • store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days
  • great for meal prepping.
