Make sure your short-term goals line up with your long-term goals, and then all you’ll have to focus on is what you have planned week-by-week.

You need to think logically about the weight you can lose. You may want to drop 150 pounds, but realistically, you can’t do that in three months. Rather than getting overwhelmed by unrealistic goals, you need to make a plan that fits your current abilities. Once you meet the first target, you can set a new one and repeat the process.

It’s always nice to have a weight loss buddy to support and motivate you during your lifestyle transition. This may be a spouse, a friend, or someone you barely know. You could try joining a class in a local gym and meet up with other people there. You could also try joining a group like Weight Watchers, where you will find all sorts of people with weight loss goals. With a strong support system by your side, you will have a much easier time keeping up with your goals in the long run.

Make Small, Consistent Changes That Lead To Success

Most people don’t quit smoking cold turkey. Those who try often fall back into bad habits far too quickly. The same can be said about healthy eating and fitness. You can’t transform your entire diet and exercise routine over night, but you can take a series of small steps that lead to big change. Focus on making little adjustments all the time, and you will soon find yourself in a whole new place in life.
